ARHGEF12

ARHGEF12 Gene Summary

Rho GTPases play a fundamental role in numerous cellular processes that are initiated by extracellular stimuli working through G protein-coupled receptors. The encoded protein may form a complex with G proteins and stimulate Rho-dependent signals. This protein has been observed to form a myeloid/lymphoid fusion partner in acute myeloid leukemia. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2014]

Protein Domains

A protein domain is a distinct structural or functional region within a protein that can evolve, function, and exist independently of the rest of the protein chain. These domains often fold into stable, three-dimensional structures and are associated with specific biological functions, such as binding to DNA, other proteins, or small molecules.
  • Domain present in PSD-95, Dlg, and ZO-1/2
  • Regulator of G protein signalling-like domain
  • G-protein-coupled receptor binding
  • nuclear localization sequence
  • canonical PDZ domain
  • Regulator of G protein signaling (RGS) domain superfamily
