Neuronal Signaling

Many different genes are involved in modulating the biological processes of neurotransmitter biosynthesis, uptake, transport and signaling through neurotransmitter receptors. These include receptors for specific neurotransmitters, such as acetylcholine, benzodiazepine, dopamine, gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), glutamate, serotonin, somatostatin and neuropeptides, as well as genes involved in the regulation of neurotransmitter levels.
