IL-17A and IL-17F are key cytokines involved in signaling pathways that regulate cytokine production in intestinal epithelial cells and signaling in gastric cells. IL-17A, more potent than IL-17F, interacts with TNF-α to modulate gene expression, influencing diseases like IBD and gastric cancer by activating pathways like EGFR, ERK and NF-κB.
