Zmym2 Gene Summary [Mouse]

This gene encodes a protein that contains nine MYM-type zinc finger motifs. Expression of this gene may mediate the inhibition of hematopoietic cell development during ontogeny, and the encoded protein may also play a role in transforming growth factor-beta signaling as a Smad binding protein. Protein Domains

A protein domain is a distinct structural or functional region within a protein that can evolve, function, and exist independently of the rest of the protein chain. These domains in mouse Zmym2 often fold into stable, three-dimensional structures and are associated with specific biological functions, such as binding to DNA, other proteins, or small molecules.
