Involved in protein deacylation and regulation of ketone biosynthetic process. Acts upstream of or within regulation of succinate dehydrogenase activity and response to ischemia. Located in cytosol and mitochondrial inner membrane. Is expressed in several structures, including 1st branchial arch maxillary component; oocyte; palatal shelf; sensory organ; and tibialis anterior.
